Air Fryer Mini Sausage Pastries

By Esther Lackie

These little air fryer sausage pastries are one of those simple snacks that look like you spent far more time making them than you actually did. Cocktail chicken sausages are wrapped in ready made pastry, brushed with egg and sprinkled with sesame seeds before going straight into the air fryer. There is no preheating and no flipping. Just wrap them, brush them and let the air fryer do the rest.

Ingredients

  • Ready made pastry dough squares, enough to make roughly 18 mini pastries
  • Roughly 18 cocktail chicken sausages
  • Beaten egg, enough for brushing
  • Sesame seeds, for sprinkling

Method

  1. 01

Assemble the sausage pastries: place one cocktail chicken sausage in the middle of a pastry dough square. Bring the pastry around the sausage, overlapping the sides so the sausage is wrapped securely while the ends remain visible.

  1. 02

Brush with egg: arrange the wrapped sausages in the air fryer basket and brush the exposed pastry with beaten egg.

  2. 03

Add sesame seeds: sprinkle sesame seeds over the egg-brushed pastry.

    Lackie's Notes

Wrapping these is very technical: sausage in the middle, then cover it with the pastry like a baby in a blanket.

No preheating and no flipping needed for the way I made these.
