Air Fryer Chicken Sausages

Some of the best things in my kitchen are the simplest. These chicken sausages go into the air fryer lightly scored, with just a little spray of avocado oil, and come out beautifully browned and juicy in about 15 minutes at 180°C. I cook mine in a dual heating air fryer, so I didn't need to turn them halfway through. If yours has a single heating element, it's worth checking them as they cook and turning them for even browning.

Ingredients

  • Chicken sausages, as needed
  • Avocado oil spray, a light coating

Method

  1. 01

Lightly score the chicken sausages before cooking.

  2. 02

Arrange the sausages in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving a little room around them so the air can circulate.

  3. 03

Lightly spray the sausages with avocado oil.

  4. 04

Air fry at 180°C for approximately 12 to 15 minutes, or until browned and completely cooked through. Mine took approximately 15 minutes.

  1. 05

I used a dual heating (Dual Blaze style) air fryer, so I did not need to turn the sausages during cooking. If you are using a conventional air fryer with a single heating element, check them as they cook and turn them halfway through if needed for even browning.

  2. 06

Make sure the chicken sausages are fully cooked through before serving. Chicken should never be served underdone.

  3. 07

Serve hot with your preferred side dish.

Golden and beautifully browned straight from the air fryer. Air fryer models vary, so start checking around the 12 minute mark.

Lackie's Notes

Scoring the sausages before cooking helps create that browned look you can see in the photographs.

A light avocado oil spray is all you need. There's no need to coat them heavily.

Air fryer models vary, so begin checking around the 12 minute mark. Mine were ready at approximately 15 minutes.

Because I used a dual heating (Dual Blaze style) air fryer, I didn't need to turn them. With a conventional air fryer, turn them halfway through if needed for even browning.

Always make sure chicken sausages are fully cooked before serving.

Serving Suggestion

I served mine over a fresh rocca salad with caramelised onions for an easy, satisfying meal, but these work with any side you like. For more ideas, browse my Air Fryer Recipes.
