Nyama Choma Air Fryer Lamb Chops
These air fryer lamb chops are one of those recipes that proves you don't need a long ingredient list to make something seriously good. The chops are rubbed with nyama choma spice and avocado oil, left to marinate briefly, then air fried until beautifully browned. While they're still hot I brush them with homemade garlic butter and finish with fresh parsley and chilli flakes. Simple, quick and packed with flavour — I served mine with a ready made quinoa salad for an easy lunch.

Ingredients
- Lamb chops
- Nyama choma spice, to taste
- Avocado oil
- Homemade garlic butter, for brushing
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- Chilli flakes, for garnish
Method
- 01
Prepare the lamb: place the lamb chops in a bowl or suitable dish, then add the nyama choma spice and avocado oil. Rub the seasoning and oil thoroughly over the chops so they are evenly coated.
- 02
Marinate the lamb: leave the seasoned lamb chops to marinate for approximately 15 minutes.
- 03
Air fry the lamb chops: arrange them in the air fryer basket in a single layer and air fry at 180°C for 10 minutes.

- 04
Brush with garlic butter: once cooked, remove the hot lamb chops from the air fryer and brush them with homemade garlic butter while they are still hot.
- 05
Garnish and serve: finish with freshly chopped parsley and chilli flakes, then serve immediately. I served mine with a ready made quinoa salad, but pair them with whichever side you prefer.
My air fryer has Dual Blaze heating, so the chops were not turned during cooking. If you're using a conventional air fryer with a single heating element, you may wish to turn them halfway through for more even browning. Lamb chops vary in thickness and starting temperature, and air fryers differ, so 10 minutes won't give identical doneness in every kitchen — check yours for your preferred doneness, using a food thermometer where necessary.

Lackie's Notes
Coat the lamb chops evenly with the nyama choma spice and avocado oil.
Give them the full 15 minute marinating time before cooking.
Arrange them in a single layer rather than overcrowding the air fryer.
This recipe was cooked in a Dual Blaze air fryer, so the chops did not need turning.
Conventional air fryers may benefit from turning the chops halfway through.
Brush the garlic butter onto the lamb while the chops are still hot.
Finish with fresh parsley and chilli flakes just before serving.
